Everyone who has ever worked with Rayonna Hystead knows she is extraordinary. Last night, a whole lot more people found out as she began her term as president of the YWCA Cass Clay board of directors.
While Rayonna gets energy from community service and works to improve lives in many ways, she has an extra special connection to the YWCA. When Rayonna was a child, she and her biological mother needed the YWCA. They found themselves without a safe place to stay, and the YWCA Emergency Shelter was the sanctuary they needed during one of life’s most difficult times.
Rayonna was later adopted by a family that gave her a stable home and an opportunity to thrive. She took hold of that opportunity and has never let go.
After successful stints at Goldmark Property Management and Microsoft, Rayonna joined our team as Marketing Manager in 2023. She’s a wizard at project management, internal communications, and technology solutions. She keeps our Marketing team organized, motivated, and on point.
Rayonna has a slogan for her term as YWCA president: “From Resident to President.” It’s a powerful statement about hope, tenacity, the impact of generosity, and the promise of new beginnings.
Last night’s ceremony honored the YWCA’s Women of the Year. She’s a remarkable leader for an organization that names Women of the Year, while they reach a helping hand to many more who will become them. Excitingly, Rayonna was able to present the Science and Technology award to our very own, Alexa Ducioame, who works for one of our subsidiary companies, Moore Engineering.
