Assists in environmental and water resources engineering projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Works on projects including, but not limited to: stream and wetland restoration, stormwater quality improvement projects, floodplain analysis, and stormwater permitting
- Assists in client contact and communication pertaining to specific projects, including attending city meetings
- Assists senior engineers and team with CAD, hydrologic, hydraulic and water quality modeling, and other tasks related to water quality improvement projects, including construction oversight
- Assists in the analysis of reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, tests, and aerial photographs on soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and other topographical and geologic data to plan and design project
- Prepares design computations and quantity estimates
- Assists in the preparation or modification of reports, funding applications, specifications, plans, construction schedules, environmental impact studies, permits and designs for project
- Revises plan documents and coordinates with draftsperson/technicians to modify designs and performs drafting, as needed
- Conducts periodic site visits to monitor progress and other duties per the contract documents and plans
- Serves as onsite project representative
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Ag Engineering, Environmental Engineering or other related engineering degree with an interest in water quality improvement projects
- Two to three years of relevant experience preferred
- Completion of Engineer in Training exam with aspirations to obtain PE license
- Stays current in job specialty by attending continuing education courses
- General understanding of AutoCAD software
- Stormwater modeling experience is a plus (HydroCAD, XPSWMM, HEC-RAS, P8, etc.)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
